We do not normally start our kidding season until the first of April due to the extreme weather conditions in late winter. Temps are crazy and there is usually an interesting amount of wet heavy snows in February and March.... well this year has been a little different. We have two boer bucks that are fairly young, and one sunny afternoon they broke out of their "jail" and had a little fun...Here is the result of their fun... first set of twins were born on a snow covered 12 degree day... thank god for an excellent mom and hair dryers and hot towels...second set born a couple days later on a much warmer day... and a couple days later... a single was born, again on a warmer morning. All girls (does).
I didn't take a lot of pictures of the babies born on the 12 degree day. Too worried that they wouldn't make it...As you can see they are going strong.
Named them Fudgesicle and Dreamsicle.
Second set of twins born in the woods. Beka took ownership of these babies.
Beka laying outside the barn by "her" babies getting some well deserved "grub".
Baby number three, check out those ears.
"Little Strawberry" Her mom is an older goat and doesn't have much milk so she is getting some bottle help. VERY spoiled already.
Hopefully we are done until April.
