Newest Boys Update

These guys are always together..You wouldn't believe the noise these little guys can make when they are separated and mad..
Mr. Black Tail showing off his stuff.

I will be glad when they are old enough to stay with the rest of the goats.  I have spent a lot of time combing the field looking for these guys in the evening or just before a storm..(which is everyday)  When baby goats bellies are full they like to roll up into a ball and go into a dead sleep.  Not even the noise of a 4-wheeler will wake them up.  I spend over an hour looking for them yesterday, almost ran over a fawn that was sound a sleep in the field.  When I finally found them, they weren't in the field at all, they were tucked up next to a big cedar tree root in the woods.  Gotta love those goats.

This is two of the three (triplets) in the tall grass...  I am sure glad husband made  all those paths for the little ones to stay on... ha.

The little boys finally arrived this morning.  Healthy and looking for food.

Finally Babies...

I have been watching this old girl for two weeks now, saying everyday "today is the day".  I was afraid she might have three or four from her size.  These pictures were taken at noon yesterday.  She had started "digging" and "nesting"

At 6: p.m. I went out and met these two "little" guys.  A pair of boys..one bigger than the other.  I brought them in from the wooded spot where they were born and put them in a hut for the night.

Birds Love Spring - Trance - Goats

Goats are shedding their under coats right now.  Hair is everywhere.  Birds love to take the fur to make their nests.

I love to see our dogs using their natural instincts to protect their flock.  During kidding season their instincts go into over drive, one dog is with the adult goats and the other is always with the newest group of babies.  Trance is with the adults in these pictures.

Couple of the kids just hanging out.

April 14-15...A bit chilly- Triplet Update

Triplets are up and starting to do some goat stuff.. I should be able to let them out of the barn in the next day or so.

Yesterday ..... what can I say.

Hummingbird feeder this morning.  The poor little dudes were trying to drink out of it.  At least it didn't freeze solid, just a little slushy.

Kidding Continues

Good Morning..and where am I?  This little girl is just a few hours old so she hasn't figured out how the legs work yet.

These two boys were born a.m. yesterday.  They were strange little new born's... sometimes when they are born they are super "wired".  I ended up putting them in the barn with mom to settle everyone down.  All is well this morning.

Of course I don't want to leave my older kids out of the pictures.  Here is little Strawberry having a little fun this morning.

More Boys!

These little guys were born just before noon yesterday, out in the field.  That is normally a good healthy thing to happen, but yesterday it was 40 something with a lively wind.  I had to get the hair dryer out again to dry them and warm them up.  After about an hour they were up and hollering.  This morning belly's are full and they doing what all new born's do..sleeping

The first set of boys are out in the sun today, starting to be interested in the world.

Babies and the "Big" pasture

Today was a big day for the babies... introduction to one of the pastures..

Beka has joined the group.  She loves her babies.

Maybe she loves playing in the mud and water a little too.

Beka scanning the area for problems.

All kinds of new "things" to play on.

Found some sort of tree fungi...?

Trance is waiting for us at the gate..

Beka... just one more hug please...

Beka and Trance have heard some sort of evil thing to guard against.
